IMG_0390Deputy Henri Floris has been with the Sheriff’s Department for over 21 years.  Prior to working for the Sheriff’s Department, he worked with troubled youths at the California Youth Authority.  After a stint at the Inmate Reception Center, Henri spent 5 years on patrol at Industry Station before joining the STAR Unit.

Deputy Floris has been with the STAR Unit for over 12 years. He enjoys teaching two curricula, Too Good for Drugs & Violence (from the Mendez Foundation) and Gang Resistance Education and Training (G.R.E.A.T), at schools in the cities of La Puente, Basset, Hacienda Heights, Belinda and Artesia. Deputy Floris also provides parent education classes on subjects like internet safety and drug awareness.  He enjoys being a positive influence in the classroom and in the community. In the summer, Deputy Henri oversees the Basset STAR Camp. The summer camps are a great opportunity for the STAR Deputies to spend time with their students outside of the classroom.

Deputy Floris is happily married, and the couple have two children. Henri enjoyed coaching AYSO soccer for 10 years, and he now likes to golf, play racquetball and mountain bike in his spare time.
